This scoop of Brown Pelicans was photographed by Jim Drysdale of Orangevale, California while vacationing in La Jolla. Jim recalls, "They looked like three buddies just hanging out together. After I snapped the picture, they flew off together, gliding over the surf to another rock."

Taken with a Panasonic Lumix FZ18, set at f/5.6 with a shutter speed of 1/500.
