Photo of the Month: August 2012

This unique photo of a pair of juvenile Sand Hill Cranes was taken by Phil Coleman of Carmichael. Phil took the shot from a canoe on Spectacle Lake in Bowron Provincial Park, British Columbia. The birds' plumage has not yet faded to the familiar grayish tones, giving them quite an exotic look. Nice work, Phil!
