Photo of the Month: November 2010

November's photo of the month is of an Anna's Hummingbird facing off with a praying mantis. This unique photo was taken by Jim Chambers of Rancho Murieta. Jim relates, "It was most fortunate to have captured that image as here was quite a battle going on between the hummers and the mantis. The hummers seemed to be well aware of keeping out of reach of the mantis' appendages. Eventually the mantis moved on."
