Public Relations Tips

• Publicize the program well in advance of implementation
• Have announcements about the program included in daily bulletins, parent newsletters, and student newspapers
• Write press releases and send to local papers, radio and television stations
• Create a program brochure or flyer and make it available at several points on campus
• Arrange to announce the program whenever possible at faculty and PTA meetings
• Have a monthly or weekly column in the school newspaper
• Send flyers to retirement homes and senior citizen centers asking for volunteers
