Volunteer Guidelines (continued)
What to Expect On Campus
To prepare you for the high school campus environment, please note that:
- Students are often very loud, making breaks and lunch quite noisy
- You may hear language that makes you feel uncomfortable
- You may see clothing that offends you or of which you do not approve
- Students may litter frequently
- Pushing, shoving, and play-acting may occur. This does not mean that
violence is imminent
- You may see what you consider to be flagrant sexuality
- Students you know may act much differently at school than in other settings
