A Strong Showing at the 2014 Nationals

January 9, 2015

Lisa and CzantiagoLast September, the 2014 Sport Horse Nationals were held at the Ford Idaho Center Horse Park in Nampa, Idaho. Running September 24 - 27, the event featured over 350 horses and 1000 exhibitors.

CZANTIAGO+// had a remarkable showing this year, winning seven Top Tens, including Green Hunter, Hunter ATR, Hunter Hack ATR, Hunter Hack AAOTR, Sport Horse Under Saddle Open, Sport Horse Under Saddle ATR, not to mention Champion Hunter AAOTR (Adult Amateur Owner to ride)!

Also making an impressive appearance at this year's Nationals, HANDSOME IZ (Osilvis X Pascion S) was named Supreme Champion Two-Year-Old In-Hand as well as National Champion Two-Year-Old Half-Arabian Gelding. By winning the Supreme Champion award, he was named Best in Show of all two-year-olds. This award is a perpetual trophy in Molly Stanley's name. This is the first year it was awarded and is fitting that it was won by a horse that she bred.

Czantiago, Lisa and MichelleHAVANAA NIGHTS (CZANTIAGO+// X Bel Sstarr) continued the Stanley Ranch winning streak, winning a Top Ten in the Two-Year-Old Half-Arabian Mare class.

Also in the Top Ten was two-year-old purebred mare, SW EXSTACY (Exodus I +// X Cia HA). She is now owned by Jim Porcher of Bernanillo, New Mexico, who couldn't be any prouder.

In a very special ceremony, the Sport Horse National Show Commission recognized the recent passing of Molly Stanley by presenting her daughter, Lisa Stapleton, with a commemorative plaque. The plaque reads, "In memory of Molly Stanley and her dedication to and passion for the Arabian Sport Horse."

It was an incredible show, and though we missed Molly, we know she was with us in spirit, sharing in the triumphs of her cherished Stanley Ranch Arabians.
