CZANTIAGO++'s Trakehner Inspection
September 17, 2012
Recently, CZANTIAGO++ went to the Trakehner inspection in Napa where he was rigorously tested (as were the other stallions—two Trakehners, one Thoroughbred and one Half Arabian). The testing covered: character and temperament, soundness, moving ability in freedom, jumping ability in the free jump, over three jumps up to 3.75, movement and obedience on the triangle, harmony, gaits and rideability under saddle. CZANTIAGO++ was accepted by the ATA as an 'Approved' outcross stallion for the Trakehner breed. Many standards had to be met and exceeded; they will only accept the 'best of the best' that they feel can truly be an improvement when used with their mares who need an 'infusion' of 'hot' blood. While at the inspection, CZANTIAGO++ booked an exceptional mare imported from Germany.
We found the Trakehner owners and breeders to be real horsemen and horsewomen, and a good time was had by all.
